Ainsworth Motors & Machinery Pty. Ltd. Is owned by Fred Ainsworth and Peter and Shirley Bellgrove.
This Company has the Holden Franchise and stock a comprehensive selection over 100 used vehicles.
It has the Franchise for many other machinery agencies the largest of which is Ford New Holland, and Gyral. We also have Shearer, Jetstream, Connor Shea Napier.
Fred and Joyce Ainsworth purchased Glister Motors (which is where Tyre Power is now) on 3rd February, 1969. They came into the industry with a great deal of business knowledge. At the time they took over they were agents for Chrysler, Nissan, Vanguard, Fiat, New Holland, Shearer, Gyral, Deutz, Connor-Shea Napier, Jetstream. There were approx. 15 employed at that time. Joyce had a real flair for making sure that everything was done and done correctly, where Fred was more the upfront person who enjoyed a chat with the customers.
In January 1981 their business had expanded to the extent that they purchased the present building which was then Ken Scott Motors. They moved their operation to the new building and kept some of the original staff from Ken Scott Motors as well. The team then grew to be approx. 25 on staff and has remained at almost this figure to this date.
Holden dealership is the one that is the most important as far as vehicles are concerned. Both the range of Commodores, Statesman, small cars and Rodeos are very good products.
Later on Ford and New Holland combined so Ainsworth Motors Pty.Ltd. Took over the Ford tractors and range of machinery as well. Massey Ferguson was later dropped which left Dalby as the closest dealer.
Gyral Machinery is one of our main machinery, as they make excellent products for the farming requirements and are very good at backing up their service.
Ainsworth Motors Pty.Ltd. have always maintained a training programme, so that there is always some apprentices on the staff, but the qualified people are also sent away to schools to keep in touch with the new products being brought onto the market. We have also had a policy of training adult apprentices and to date have seen several of the staff achieve their Certificates.
